One year ago, the ESRI Developer Network (EDN) was launched by Jack Dangermond at the Business Partner Conference in Palm Springs. That was a big day for me as it took several months of planning and work by a dedicated team to release EDN. The purpose and goals of EDN on day 1 are still true today.
Make ESRI’s developer technology available to developers by reducing the cost and complexity
Fostering and supporting a developer community
Increase developer opportunities with ArcGIS
This first year is just the beginning… I think we have made progress but there is still more that can be done. The upcoming 9.2 release will have many features for developers and the upcoming Developer Summit is the result of your feedback. So if you have suggestions on EDN or developer related stuff, let me know (firstname.lastname@example.org).
