Sports Illustrated (SI) has a picture feature where they rank the last 20 Hesiman winners. BYU's Ty Detmer comes in at #3. He's topped by Ricky Williams and Barry Sanders. That makes him the top college quarterback in the last 20 years according to SI. I totally agree, Ty was small but had a huge heart and tons of talent.

I recently needed to find some good real world examples of Internet mapping sites... So I went to the Server Technology User Registry and found over 600. Several of the "Showcase" sites were quite impressive. Internet mapping sites have come a long way in the last few years. I remember my first attempts with ArcView 3 IMS and MapObjects IMS when I worked for Utah County back in the 90s. After browsing a few of these sites, it makes me wonder what the future holds with ArcGIS Server 9.2 and ArcGIS Explorer.

I'm a big fan of ESPN's top 10 sports plays of the day and especially enjoy the top plays of the year. It always seem that as one year ends and a new one begins, everyone has their top 10 list pointing out the high or low lights of the year. I'm going to start a few list as I look back at 2006.
For those that missed the news of the Thanksgiving holiday, registration for the ESRI Developer Summit is open.
I know that there a already a lot of people working hard to make this event a success. Here is high-level look at the agenda and a nice quote from Dave Bouwman.
With the release of ArcGIS 9.2 ESRI is introducing ArcGIS Online, a family of Web-based products and services for ArcGIS users. ArcGIS users will be able to access maps, globes, and services directly via the Web through ArcGIS Online.
The initial release of ArcGIS Online will consist of ArcGIS Online Services—ready-to-use content and capabilities for ArcGIS users, including 2D maps, 3D globes, and reference layers. Subsequent releases of ArcGIS Online will expand to include other online content and capabilities for ArcGIS users.
