    6 weeks after ACL surgery

It's been 6 weeks today since my ACL reconstruction surgery and things are going well.  I can fully extend my knee and the bend is almost equal to my other leg.  I've been going to physical therapy (PT) for the last 3 weeks and it seems to be helping as my legs are getting stronger.  For PT, I'm going to a place called Outback here in Redlands and the great thing is there location.  They are right across the street from the ESRI campus.  I meet with the surgery next week but it seems like everything is going well it's just going to take time before I play soccer or basketball again.

I started using Google Reader for some of the non GIS blogs I read.  Google Reader has a feature that allows you to mark post as "Shared".  All your shared post then get aggregated on a site which also has an RSS feed.  So as I'm reading along, I'll try and share a few items.

    Knee update

Well it's been a little over 3 weeks since my ACL surgery and I'm doing pretty good.  I'm working with a physical therapist 2 times a week and am able to return to the YMCA for upper body lifting and cardio on the stationary bike.  My knee is bending and extending better each day but it's still swollen and gets a little achy if I sit at my desk too long.  I've got a series of leg exercises that I do everyday to help rebuild my muscles and improve my flexibility.

Thanks for all the encouragement and support.  I plan on doing all the rehab for the rest of the year and be back to 100% by 2008.
